Nurse Deontology
In medicine, there is the concept of "deontology" - the science of duty. The professional deontology of a nurse is the duty of paramedical workers to the patient, his family and the whole society.
Saying that there is a deontology of a nurse and other health workers implies professional behavior both in the workplace and outside of work. Compliance with the norms of deontology includes:
- attentive attitude to the patient, immediate response to changes in his condition and / or behavior;
- tactful treatment of the patient;
- collegiality in relation to all employees;
- maintaining medical confidentiality.
First of all, nurse deontologyis its internal and external culture.
Internal culture is a set of qualities that a nurse should ideally possess:
- honesty;
- sincerity;
- dedication to one's work;
- modesty;
- kindness;
- readiness to come to the rescue;
- discipline;
- justice;
- compassion;
- friendliness.
Foreign culture:
- neatness;
- moderation in makeup and jewelry;
- grammatically correct speech;
- appropriate words and expression;
- lack of familiarity, politeness.
