The duties of the chief nurse of the health facility include several sections.
1. Work with personnel:
- Resolving employment issues based on the results of the interview of candidates;
- methodological and organizational measures with senior nurses of health care units;
- participation in the work of the council of nurses of a medical institution;
- organization of training of middle and junior medical personnel.
2. Production work section:
- organization of diagnostic and treatment processes at the nursing level;

- control over the maintenance of medical records at the required level.

- analysis of emergencies.
4. Organizational work:
- catering for patients in inpatient departments, if necessary - in day hospitals and outpatient departments;
- ensuring the material and technical supply of the hospital together with the logistics department and the deputy chief physician for economic activities;
- organization of festive events.

- participation in the activities of the Association of Nurses of Russia.
