Preparation of disinfectants
Before you start preparing disinfectants for work in the procedural, manipulation and other rooms, the nurse should make sure of the following.
- The disinfectant has a passport and instructions for use.
- The packaging has a stamp on the expiration date, which matches the data in the passport of the disinfectant.
- The remedy has not expired.
Mandatory rule: the preparation of disinfectants is carried out in a specially designated room, equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation and in overalls.
The nurse puts on a gown, a cap or cap, a respirator or a tight mask, goggles, gloves and a change of shoes. All "equipment" is designed specifically for the preparation of working solutions from factory forms.
After the working solutions are ready, the nurse takes off her overalls and puts on a gown, cap, mask and gloves already for work.
If, when diluting the solutions, the disinfectant got:
on the skin - rinse immediately with running water;
in the eyes - rinse with a 2% soda solution and drip 30% sodium sulfacyl - eye drops, with severe pain - drip eye drops with lidocaine and see an ophthalmologist.
If irritation of the upper respiratory tract occurs:
- immediately leave the special room and go out into the fresh air or into a well-ventilated area;
- rinse the mouth with a 2% soda solution;
- drink a glass of warm milk with the addition of soda;
- if necessary - take 30 drops of corvalol, consult a doctor.
