postheadericon spiral bandage

The spiral bandage begins with circular tours of the bandage. Next, the bandage is carried out from the periphery to the center, half or 2/3 overlapping the previous tours - as a result, a spiral is formed.

A spiral bandage is used for wounds of the chest, abdomen, limbs. Sometimes covering a significant part of the body, such a bandage exerts uniform pressure on the damaged part of the body.

When the cylindrical shape of a part of the body changes into a cone-shaped one (when bandaging the forearm, lower leg), a spiral bandage is applied using a special “bandage bend” technique.

In this case, the bandage is carried obliquely upwards, then the edge of the bandage is held with the thumb of the left hand, a turn is made on itself and it is bent 45 degrees. Thus, the top edge of the bandage is the bottom. The bandage continues to lead in the same way as when applying a conventional spiral bandage.

On one line, new kinks are made until the wound is completely closed. The end of the bandage - circular tours.

ascending spiral bandage is carried out from the periphery to the center, a descending one - from the center to the periphery.
